Katie Emberley began taking pottery classes in 2014 and fell in love with the craft. She
established her home studio in 2019, where she focuses on functional, every day kitchen wares. All works are wheel thrown and trimmed with the goal to achieve balance and comfort in the hand, as a comfortable mug is a well-used mug. Katie loves spending her free time in Hamilton's conservation areas and gathers her artistic inspiration from birding and nature walks. The colours, textures and forms of nature are common threads that run throughout her works.
