Katie Gorrie is a Hamilton-born-and-raised artist working in both acrylic and digital media. Her acrylic paintings explore themes of mental health and neurodivergence through bright, saturated colours and a bold, graphic style. She frequently uses the imagery of eyes to express the feeling of being under constant observation: an experience familiar to many neurodivergent individuals. Her vivid colour palette mirrors the intensity of emotion and thought, making her work impossible to ignore. In addition to her painting practice, Katie runs a small art business where she sells her own designs as prints, stickers, and other handmade goods. While the business has its own playful identity, it’s rooted in the same values of visibility, humour, and mental health awareness that inform her fine art.
