The Orange Whip Blues

“The Orange Whip Blues”
2019
5x7” digital print - $15 - 12 grams
Graphite illustration, digitally painted using photographic textures with macro
photography.

"Created for my ongoing Cocktail Hour series, a collection of still life portraits of classic
film cocktails, surrounded by the elements from the films themselves - this one, the
ninth in the series, specifically for “The Blues Brothers” featuring the Orange Whip
cocktail - in the film, John Candy orders three at a time, and the soundtrack and humour
in this has carried me through my entire life. In high school, I even recreated some of
the scenes to replicate the lighting and camera direction in class projects, and was one
that I revisited time and again. Each of these pieces always comes with a recipe for the
exact cocktail, to replicate at your leisure, with some cheeky one-liners from the films
thrown in to make them more fun."
