Jesley Lau is a self-taught Hong Kong artist and the creator of ohimgood, a tender and slightly offbeat creative world. After years in advertising and marketing, she began drawing again during a period of major life change after moving to Canada.
Personal but relatable, her work reminds us that being weird, sensitive, and unsure is something many of us quietly share. The name ohimgood comes with a small thumbs-up. ohimgood can be a polite way to say no, an easy escape from questions you’d rather not answer, or simply a response when words don’t quite fit. It also embraces the awkward, the weird, and everything in between. Its meaning changes from moment to moment, and that’s part of the charm.
More than just illustrations, ohimgood is an ever-evolving extension of Jesley’s imagination. Through paintings, drawings, objects, and whatever surfaces catch her eye, she continues to explore different ways of bringing her little world to life.
