“Leonard Cohen”
2015
5x7” digital print - $15 - 12
Pen and ink illustration, with watercolour.
"I grew up with this man’s voice crooning in my ears as a child, and he’s fed my soul ever
since. One of my early works when I was still scribbling, experimenting, and trying to find my voice, exploring form and mediums - I was intensely focused on practicing on
portraiture to hone and re-flex my skills after more than 15 years of being dormant when
it came to visual art. For this illustration in particular, I was tasked with creating nine
pieces for a collective art show at the Steamwhistle Brewery in Toronto entitled “Badass
Canucks” that year, focusing on some of my favourite Canadian media personalities,
this being just one of them."
