Born in 1948. CHRISTOPHER MAKOS grew up in California before moving to Paris to study architecture and later work with Man Ray. 

Since 1970, he has worked at developing a style of boldly graphic photojournalism. He has become a seminal figure in the contemporary art scene in New York: He introduced artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring to ANDY WARHOL. 

His photographs have been the subject of numerous exhibitions throughout the United States, Europe and Japan and the ones Warhol have been auctioned regularly at Sotheby's
