Mya Naidoo

Mya Naidoo is a Toronto-based artist working in painting and drawing who graduated with a BFA in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University in 2025. Her work explores the subconscious distortions of memory and familiar imagery, often drawing on personal experiences in nature and her enduring relationship to light, landscape, and the sun.

Influenced by the Group of Seven and by Mary Pratt’s ability to transform ordinary subjects through light, Naidoo builds her oil paintings through thin, gradual layers, creating surfaces in which emotion and luminosity seem to emerge from within. Her compositions balance abstraction and recognition, allowing remembered environments to shift and soften while retaining their emotional intensity.

Her work has been exhibited at the Ontario Court of Justice and Gladstone House and is currently available through galleries and organizations including Avant Garde Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, and Wall Art Social Club in Singapore. Her work is held in collections in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
