Mike Smalley
Mike Smalley is an artist based in Toronto, ON. He comes from an established background from York University’s Fine Arts program, and cites inspiration with abstract expressionism, and more recently, the combination between abstraction and vague surrealism.
While each piece may hold resemblance to a particular place or landscape, Smalley celebrates what he refers to as the ‘figments of imagination’, creating works that feel both familiar and emotive.
He goes on to say… “[I’ve] realized one never stops looking at the world around us, but each time we really look, we see something different, and sometimes it’s worth recording…”
