Artworks of Canadian-Iranian artist, Maryam Ebrahimi, are magnetic in their meditative flow. Her paintings have captivated the attention of viewers for their calming silhouettes and vibrant colours. As Ebrahimi describes the emotional experience that inspired her latest series of paintings:

“My latest collection, “Fly Me Away” is about love, family and isolation during a global pandemic. Feathered brush strokes emerge from the canvas as birds, representing their migration to Canada. The mixed layers of paint, with a strong base and lighter overlays, reflect the intricacies of our personal relationships and wellbeing. A building of layers topped with a glaze for transparency represents my family's bond and the value I place on meaningful relationships.”

Maryam Ebrahimi holds a four-year diploma in Graphic Design and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Azad University of Tehran. Ebrahimi's work has been showcased nationally and abroad in solo and group exhibitions including presentation at the Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum, Zhejiang, China; and the CETYS University, Baja California, Mexico. Her work may be found in the corporate collection of the State Farm Insurance Company, Lomita, California and private collections in Canada and Europe. Ebrahimi currently lives and works in Richmond Hill, ON.
