Marsha Strycharz
After a career in the corporate and consulting world, Marsha Strycharz began pursuing her interest in art, and more specifically in painting. She completed the Fine Arts program at Sheridan College, but is mostly self-taught as a painter. During her time at Sheridan, Strycharz selected oil as her medium of choice which has been the focused medium of her practice ever since.
Inspired by the still life paintings of the 17th century Dutch Golden Age Masters and Hyperrealism, Strycharz creates luminously detailed paintings of common objects. Though simple in composition and subject matter, the stillness and quietude of her still life works offer a deeper emotional experience than what initially, visually meets the eye.
Strycharz was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. Strycharz’s works have been exhibited in numerous art fairs, juried, group, and solo exhibitions. Her paintings are held in private collections in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. She currently resides in Oakville, ON where she paints from her home studio.
