Kate Taylor
Kate Taylor is an abstract artist born in Cambridge, England. Using a palette knife technique in which the colours used in her works are mixed directly onto the panel surface, Taylor’s paintings invite her viewers into the materiality of her surfaces while engendering personal reflections upon considered looking. In speaking of her work, Taylor states:
“Viewers are encouraged to enter the work and reflect on their current state, reconnect with the natural world around us and move forward with positivism.”
Taylor holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western University, ON, where she was taught painting by internationally-renowned artist Paterson Ewen. Her professional career began in 2009, and since that time Taylor has shown her work in exhibitions in Canada, the United States, and as far as Spain. She is currently based out of Toronto, Ontario.
