Bridget Melody
Bridget Melody is an artist and singer/songwriter based out of Toronto, ON. Drawing from her mixed heritage of Mi’kmaq, French Canadian and Italian roots, an integral part of Bridget’s artistry comes from her deep connection to land and spirit, along with a driving passion to exalt truth and beauty. Using acrylic paint, gels and textured mediums, she works to capture a visceral and dimensional feel to her landscape, portraits and still life images. In her own words:
“I thrive on flow and spontaneity in every form of expression, always striving to honor the creative process without judgment and to soar a little higher each time. I like to draw energy and ideas from the creative interplay between music and art, to create corresponding paintings and songs that engage the imagination and elevate the spirit.”
Melody has displayed her work at numerous community art events and festivals including the Skylight Gallery in Toronto and most recently the Woodland Cultural Centre in Brantford Ontario for the 2021 Indigenous Art Exhibition. Her art is also featured on two album covers - Spirit Dance and Spirit Song - as part of a musical collective project.
