Two Paintings by John Kinsella Lunar Bound
We are pleased to announce two works by artist John Kinsella are en route to the moon aboard the Lunar Codex time capsule, Serenity.
Nasa's Blue Ghost Mission 1 launched via a Space X Falcon 9 Rocket from Cape Canaveral on January 15th, 2025 and will be landing on the moon's near side in the Mare Crisium region north west of the Mons Latreille crater. The rocket is anticipated to land approximately 45 days after launch. The paintings are stored on a nanofiche disc, a permanent archival technology based of nickel with an indefinite lifetime expectancy. This nanofiche was attached to the Firefly Aersopace lunar lander, The Blue Ghost, where it will remain on the moon.
