Rose Pearson

Rose Pearson is an artist and educator in Haliburton County.

For her photorealism practice, Pearson works from her own photographic references. After careful selection, the final composites are digitally manipulated to create compositions that are then enlarged onto gridding on canvas. The process of creating the resulting paintings is done through slow and meticulous work utilizing small brushes that allow subtle changes in hues to be explored, and exaggerated.

At Fleming College's "Haliburton School of Art + Design" Rose coordinates and teaches in the Visual and Creative Arts Diploma as well as in the Drawing and Painting Certificate. Rose’s professional art making practice began simultaneously with the decision to become a mother; the subject of her painting is tied to the levels of experience encountered in her daily life. Subject matter for the current work incorporates local flora and fauna.
