Jennifer Roosevelt is a self-taught abstract artist from Hamilton, Ontario. Growing up in and around the biosphere and urban construct of the city she has never found herself lacking for inspiration. The cities vibrancy and ambition is only matched by it's raw grit. This is where Jennifer finds her art to reflect these moments. Each piece of her work is a personal reflection of experiences and insights regarding her daily life. Bold, colourful or monochromatic abstract painting of figures, landscapes or from her 'pure' imagination. Jennifer is partial to canvas, however, found materials like wood, drywall, or magazines are thrilling to utilize for the artist. Among her library of paintings there are also sculptures and drawings that litter her studio walls, books, and floor. Classified as abstract, Jennifer can also depict images finely; however, prefers the chaotic and unruly nature of abstract art as it creates a balance within.
