Dylan Swan

Dylan Swan places connection, community and belonging at the forefront of his painting practice. Utilizing the everyday experiences found in his hometown of Hamilton, he states:

“The Hamilton area and community is both my subject and an inspiration that drives me. My work is a reflection of the life, energy and connections that bind us all, with a vibrant, expressive style structured over an impressionistic illustrative framework.”

Painting from a personal connection with sites in the local, urban landscape, his work ultimately becomes an exploration of the beauty that exists in the ordinary and those common encounters that bring us together.

Dylan Swan received his diploma in Experimental Drawing and Painting from OCAD U. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and can be found in private collections in Canada, the United States, Italy, Germany and Australia.
